Come and join us for a Week Day Hike!!! Twice a month we'll visit a new location, of varying fitness levels and varying distances - so there's something for EVERYONE!!!x

So About This Route: 

Name: Charco del Canalon River Hike

Location: Istan

Distance: 6kms 

Elevation: 110m

We've explored this route a few times, and its absolutely perfect for the Summer Months, as you get to enjoy & swim in the beautiful Rio Verde, and bask in the stunning waterfall.

We'll be starting the River Hike at 10:00am - So its a little cooler 🕙🌎💪🏾⛰

The route isn't too long... Just 3kms each way. However, the terrain down to the Rockpool & Waterfall is quiet hilly. So with the heat, we'll have a few uphill and downhill rambles. So bring lots of water and we'll stop frequently if needed.

Once we arrive at the Rockpool & Waterfall, if you want to experience an additional 1 km of River Walking, its advisable to bring adequate footwear with lots of grip (I advise hiking boots) And you must be able to swim, as we have to pass under the waterfall itself.

However, you can also chose to stay at the Rockpool, bask in the sunshine & enjoy the Waterfall, while the others explore further.

This hike involves swimming, scrambling, climbing, and hiking along the river. So if your balance isn't too good, this may be one you have to sit out. 

I would class the route as medium/difficult, just because of the swimming, uneven terrain, river crossings, climbing over wet rocks and the hot hilly walk down to the river. So please only join us if you are physically fit, have good balance and enjoy getting wet 🌊🌊🌊😂😂😂

There'll be lots of time to jump in, swim and have a picnic in the sunshine too 🤿🩱🩲🩳🤿

What To Pack:

☑ Something Dry For After (can be left in your car)

☑ Snacks, Packed Lunch & Lots of Water 

☑ Sun Cream 

☑ Sun Glasses 

☑ Medication - If Needed 

☑ Waterproof Camera 

☑ Swimwear  

☑ Towel

☑ Waterproof Bag

☑ No Valuables 

☑ Comfortable Trainers or Hiking Boots 

☑ Or Water Shoes For The Rock Pool

There's Lots Of Free Parking!!!! 🚘🚘🚘

But do send me a message if you have a little car, as you can jump into a bigger 4x4 type of car once you arrive in Istan
